Club History

A few energetic youths met on the 16th of December 1977 and decided to organize a cricket club named  Young Cricketers, it's in Mirpur, Dhaka. Initially we used to practise in the field where the National Stadium-2 (Sher-e-bangla Stadium) has been built. Our club acted like a school, young players used to practice with us and then moved to different clubs in the city to play in the 1st and 2nd Division Cricket Leagues.

For promoting cricket we organized cricket tournaments which were participated by leading clubs of the country along with a good number of national players, a lot of the players came out of these tournaments with flying colours and some even represented the Bangladesh national team.

Apart from organizing cricket tournaments we participated in a good number of tournaments . Due to a lack of records some could not be furnished here. In 1992 we participated in the BAKSHI BAZAR SILVER CUP CRICKET TOURNAMENT and lifted the trophy by beating RAHAMATGANJ M.F.S.

We helped to introduce a cricket league in Habiganj by sending our cricket team and giving technical support to the Habiganj D.S.A. in the year 1988-89. Now Habiganj cricket league takes place every year. Our team lifted the 1989-90 Champions trophy of the Habiganj league.

In 1995 we took part in the qualifying round for 3rd Division Cricket and duly qualified for playing in the 3rd Division. Our success continued and we became undefeated champions of the first Danish 3rd Division Cricket League 1996-97 and were promoted to the 2nd division. A reception was given to the winning team at the Mirpur Stadium on 24th October 1997. The Bangladesh Cricket Board chief Saber Hossain Chowdhury MP, Alhaj Kamal Majumdar MP, Bangladesh cricket team manager Gazi Ashraf Lipu and other local elite's were present on the occasion.

In the 1997-98 season we qualified for the 1st Division league by becoming group champions of the ACME 2nd Division Cricket league.
We were promoted to the Premier League in the 1999-00 season and we hope you will support us through out the season.
